We have no complaints with performance, and have had no problems using triggers, stored procedures, etc. Make sure that you buy the Client/Server version, since the native Informix links are much faster than going through ODBC. If you are doing any type of GUI applications, Delphi is currently the best tool out there (I have also used Powerbuild and Visual Basic). It not only gives you RAD capabilities, but also a full featured OO language. It is also very FAST both while compiling and while running. On a Pentium 200, we compile a 100 form application in less than 30 seconds. The only additional components I would consider is a better grid and search tools since the ones that come with Delphi are adequate, but not excellent. The stuff by Woll2Woll (was that Wol2Wol?) is supposed to be good...
