Help with two databases and STAR

Hi, I need some help. (No, not that kind!). I am running Informix 4.0 ONLINE and STAR. I am looking for some suggestions. I have 2 databases(more than that, but you get the picture). These databases are similar in that one has a subset of the other. When a row is modified I close local database and open the remote database. I then modify this remote database. What I am looking for is some ideas/suggestions on how I can go about (weekly or nightly) seperatly from the above actions and compare the data between databases and check for validity. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
