Hi All,
I recently started to experience slow response times on my informix based
application suite. When I checked the database for the possibility of
fragmentation, it was observed that most of major tables used just had one
extent hence ruling out this cause. I ran one invocation of"onstat -p" to
monitor the performance of my IDS Database ( Informix 7.31). Both my read
and write cache returned values >99% as well as there was no indication of
foreground writes. I did observes very large values for bufwrites (
7867339), lockreqs ( 14404458417) , pagereads, bufreads etc etc..
I'm unsure how to interpret these high values. Can anyone shed some light
into the reason for these high values witnessed.
Will appreciate any advice on the above related matter..
thanks
roger
