I had a similar issue recently on IDS 11.50.FC3, Solaris 10. There was no backup job running on IDS. There was no ontape/onbar job running in Unix. This was a DEV box, so I had more leeway and was able to bounce IDS. An onmode -ky and oninit allowed the backups to run successfully. I don't know what was cleared up. There was nothing obvious in the online log.
