We do copy backs constantly from PRD to QAT so we have the
same situation. The soft link works fine but to make sapdba useable you need
to set the following variable "SAPDBA_RAWDEV" to the old path. An example
would be export SAPDBA_RAWDEV=/informix/PRD/sapdata. Our new path is
/informix/QAT/sapdata. We have used a tool from SAP to changed the path in
the reserved pages but it is not worth the trouble to do it that way.

(DSA 7.24)
No can do. Actually the primary chunk is
NOT changed, just ask onstat -d!
It is just that when the engine starts up
and reads the OTHER link, as
specified in $ONCONFIG it reads the
chunklist table from there, closes the
ROOTDBS file specified in $ONCONFIG and
reopens the chunks as named in the
reserved page chunklist table. You cannot
modify the chunk table yourself
without detailed knowledge of the IDS disk
structures, Informix tech
support has no tool to rename chunks, and
tech support will NOT alter any
disk structure without a tested and proven
tool.
