Hello everyone, has anyone out there had this problem ???
Using: Online 7.13.UC2
on: Solaris 2.5
The situation is as follows:
Logical log files are almost full - backup is needed.
(Before you all start chastising me, there are valid(ish) reasons for
this !)
I have LBU_PRESERVE set to 1, so I have 1 free log left.
I initiate a log backup with ontape -a and the logs backup nicely.
So, my system is now ready to thunder on. 2 minutes later a checkpoint
starts, and takes a bit longer than expected. After a couple of minutes,
I look and see that onstat -g wai shows that main_loop is waiting on
cond wait ( log). But my physical log is empty and all my logical
logs files show U-B (ie, backed up). This, unfortunately means my
system is locked up forever, as the cond wait is never released. So:
1) What is it waiting for ?
2) Can anyone shed any light on this ?
3) Has anyone experienced anything similar themselves ?
Cheers for any help,
