Paradox 5 <--> Online 7.1

Dear all, Has anybody out there got Paradox 5 client applications to talk to an OnLine 7.1 back end? Paradox 5 comes with native drivers for Informix 4.1. Do they support Informix 7.1? Is I-Net/I-Star a must have? Is there any other route? Does Borland support ODBC (wishful thinking??)?
