Vemo jon@etcscan.com > Database Administration jvemo@cyberspace.com > SCAN/Deluxe Payment Protection Systems, Inc. > ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Jon, Remedy works with both Informix SE and Informix ONLINE. We have tested REMEDY under: - Informix 5.x ONLINE REMEDY 2.x ARWEB (apache 1.2b4) I would recommend: REMEDY 3.0 (on Unix) (Shipping NOW) - aruser - arserver Informix 7.x ONLINE (as backend) Remedy installation script requires some standard Informix parameters such as: INFORMIXDIR ONCONFIG (TBCONFIG) You should set: SQLEXEC INFORMIXSERVER You should not have any problem installing Remedy with Informix 7.x. Remedy will create a database, "arsystem", owned by "root". You should download ARsystem specification from the www.remedy.com for more inforation about interaction between remedy's daemon and informix server. good luck, Binh Nguyen PS: I heard rumors that 1- REMEDY 2.x works with Informix 7.x ONLINE but performance is bad because arservered can used share memory (arserver compiled to work with Informix TCP settings). REMEDY 2.x works best with 5.x. SE will be ok with any versions of REMEDY. 2- ARWEB (REMEDY web interface ) is a good product but ACTIVE LINKS have not worked yet!. Java applets are being built ?.
