Re: tcp/ip connection lost after doing an sql statement

My 2 cents If you fork a new process to handel the request your new proces should go to a new port, I think the client should know about this new port. You better make the database connection after the fork its also handy if informix knows to what process to return the results. Trunced data ? Do you have 0x00 values in the strings ? rgds /Arthur ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Anderson" <janderson_ph@blackskull.org> To: <informix-list@iiug.org> Sent: Tuesday, December 02, 2003 1:48 PM Subject: tcp/ip connection lost after doing an sql statement > hi all, > > We have a daemon program created in c which listens on a specific > port for any connection request from radio frequency identifiers > (rfid) after which it forks a child and the child process accepts the > connection so the mother process can continue listening for other > requests. the child process then parses any data coming in from the > rfid and passes the values to an informix function which validates the > data and returns the appropriate message back to the device (error, > notfound or ok...).
