turbo locks
Posted in 1992
We are running Informix Turbo engine and 4GL/SQL 2.10.03G on a Unisys 5000/95. (note, this is not On-Line, and not 4.0+). We were told in class when we run tbstat -k it shows table level locks, in exclusive mode, with a +X and last column=0, which is true. To figure out which table is locked, however, we were told to look at the partnum column and note the number (like 100013c). Then, we were told, if we run "select hex(partnum) from systables" we could get the listing to let us know what table that is. BUT, apparently in our level of Turbo "hex" is not a valid syntax for select. Any ideas? I have tried calculator conversions of the decimal "partnum" from systables, such as 33445543, into hex but to no apparant avail. Yes, we are getting On-Line 4.1 sometime, whenever the powers that be agree that we have a paid maint. contract! The wonders of working for Uncle. Thanks for any help.
