I wasn't going to comment on this, but since Daniel wants to be smug... 1) TimesTen is an "in memory" database. Hence the speed from memory is going to be an order of magnitude faster than going to disk. 2) TimesTen doesn't scale very well. 3) TimesTen... What happens when the power goes? ;-) So if you want to compare apples to oranges Daniel, be my guest. But all you're doing is showing your lack of understanding of what you profess is a technology that gives you a hard on. _________________________________________________________________ Get FREE Web site and company branded e-mail from Microsoft Office Live http://clk.atdmt.com/MRT/go/mcrssaub0050001411mrt/direct/01/

Scale in what sense? > 3) TimesTen... What happens when the power goes? ;-) Nothing bad. TimesTen comes with N-way and peer-to-peer replication. Active-Active, Active-Standby, and multi-level configurations. I doubt you'd see the likes of T-Mobile, Nokia, Hewlett-Packard, Ericsson, NEC, Accenture, etc. using it if tripping over the power cord was a life-or-death issue. But this is just a diversion, I'll put away my smugness for the holidays. ;-) -- Daniel A.
