Online 5 using TCP/IP and SLIP/PPP

Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, using TCP/IP and SLIP/PPP to connect to an Online engine. We want to use a Windows front end, probably NewEra, to connect to an Online 5 engine but need to allow for some users to use dial up connections.
