Informix and SCO NFS
Posted in 1994
My office is evaluating installing NFS on our two SCO boxes to allow users easy access to all of the databases, regardless of the machine the database runs on. Before we do this, though, there are a few questions to be asked. 1. What kind of performance could be expected over NFS? We are using 486/66 boxes running SCO Unix. Our wire is 10BaseT. 2. Can this be done with Informix SE, or do we need additional software? Ideally, we would like to just mount the remote volumes locally and go from there. 3. Are there any other issues or questions we should be considering? -- Jim Holthaus email: james-holthaus@uiowa.edu phone: 319/335-3138 Programmer-Analyst, Univ of Iowa, Iowa Memorial Union Info Systems It works better if you plug it in.
