Hi,
Having successfully installed Informix 4GL compiler and Informix SE on
Red Hat Linux V6.1, created a dabase with dbaccess and compiled a simple
program with i4gl, I received the error message "Segmentation fault (
core dumped ) when I run the program. Here is the source code of the
program:
MAIN
DATABASE alvidis
CREATE TABLE article
(
artcode CHAR(5), # {code article }
artlibl CHAR(25), # {libelle article}
artunit CHAR(1), # {code unite }
artfam CHAR(1), # {code famille}
artpduni DECIMAL(8,3),# {poids unitaire}
codetva CHAR(1) # {code tva}
)
END MAIN
I should do something wrong but I don't know what. Has it connectins
with the environment variables? Should I set the environment variable
LD_LIBRARY_PATH ? Every thing runs on the same machine, no network
connections.
Thanks for pointers!
Franck
I had the same with I4gl 7.20.UD7. You need to go to ftp.redhat.com and
get hold of the earlier glibc libraries, and modify the c4gl script to
pick up the i386-glib20-linux-gcc compiler (from memory). I think I
picked up this information from www.iiug.com - so my thanks goes to
them.

The full libraries you require are: compat-binutils-5.2-2.9.1.0.23.1.i386.rpm compat-egcs-5.2-1.0.3a.1.i386.rpm compat-glibc-5.2-2.0.7.1.i386.rpm compat-libs-5.2-1.i386.rpm compat-egcs-obj-5.2-1.0.3a.i386.rpm (optional) Compile with i386-glibc20-linux-gcc Note that you will retrograde your C library, so you may have to for RPM to install one of the libraries. The source of this information comes actually from IDN, see the web page: http://www.informix.com/idn-secure/Dyna4GL/WebPages/i4glredhat60.html Q.Stanley - Q@hpstrat.demon.co.uk
