All, Guys please advice me on the best way to optimize my database server, the following are the specs of my installation; Software: IDS 10 Suse Linux 10 Hardware: IBM x3850 Server 4 Processors 4 GB Memory 2 Network cards Databases 7 Databases - DB Chunks lie locally on the IBM server Any ideas? Need MUCH more than just the system specs to tune an instance. Take a look at the presentation materials from my Tuning session at last year's IIUG/IDUG users' conference in Tampa for a good starting place.
