Log with incomplete transaction. How to get around?

Fellow Informix'ers, I was in the midst of a long transaction, and somehow the process got killed. Now when I bring up informix, it comes up in Recivery mode and stays there. I keep getting messages in my Online.log that the logs are full and a backup is needed. If I try to backup the logs, it just hangs there with no activity on the tape drive. I cannot take informix into Quiescent mode. I can only take it offline or in Recovery mode. The status of most of my logs is U-B---- but one has U---C-- I dont care if I drop the log or loose the transaction. I tried dropping or adding a log and get the message that Online must be in Quiescent mode. Is there any workaround this? Any and all help on this matter greatly appreciated.
