How to join a query into SQL

Does anyone know the SQL command to join a Query into a new sql query..? I have done it in ACCESS using... informix_location LEFT JOIN [(ras0018) Find_VCI_Locations_Subquery] ON informix_location.location = [(ras0018) Find_VCI_Locations_Subquery].location but this doesn't seem to work for me in this other SQL coding program just wondering if someone knows a way to go about this...
