Hello !
Sorry for my poor english, but i need some help .
I want to do an automatic archive from a unix shell.
When i put ontape -s -L0, the system show me to
put the tape on and press Return to proceed....
How can i send the appropiate characters in the unix shell
after the ontape command, to automatize this question ?
Sorry again and thank you!

You can write a file that has all the responses that ontape will need.
Run ontape once manually and write down everything you type. Then open
up a file on UNIX and type that all again. Then you can call ontape -s
-L0 < <that file name>.

Before you buy.
hello Luisma,
You can also try echo '\\no'|ontape -s -L 0 in a unix script.
I use this command in a script including the necessary environment vars
which will be executed from the crontab .
good luck
