12.10 xC8 Defects Fixed and Known Defects
Posted in 2016
A user reported that the 12.10.xC8 machine notes' links to IBM's 'Known Defects' and 'Defects Fixed' pages were broken — the first gave a 404, the second showed the xC6 fix list. Others noted the fix list ships inside the product and should appear on Fix Central, and raised the related issue of delayed evaluation/PartnerWorld downloads. Art Kagel followed up with IBM's documentation team: the fixed-defects link was corrected, while known defects are apparently no longer published at all, though the release notes still link to them. Downloads later appeared on PartnerWorld.

From the machine notes (For Linux x86_64, but I've checked other platforms), I've been trying to access the 'Known Defects' and 'Defects Fixed' links. These both seem to be broken. The Know Defects link results in a 404 error and the Defects Fixed link results in the list for 12.10xC6. Linux x86_64 Machine Notes: http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSGU8G_12.1.0/com.ibm.relnotes.doc /notes/ifx_1210xc8/mach/ids_machine_notes_12.10.linux-x86_64.html Broken link for Known Defects: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27046899 Incorrect link for Fixed Defects (takes you to the xC6 info): http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27046898 I thought I'd give it a few days to see if IBM resolved this, but that hasn't happened. Does anyone have the right links? Thanks! -Pete McDonnell
It should be included in the product which is already available. Naturally it's not user friendly to have to download the whole product in order to see the fixlist... 12.10.xC8 should be on FixCentral on Monday. In FixCentral the fix list should be available... Meanwhile I'll try to internally report this... Regards and thank you. Give it a few more days Pete. They just got the PDF documentation for 12.10.xc8 online late yesterday. The documentation team is probably working their way down the list. My guess, knowing IBM, is that the docs team finished weeks ago but the pages are tied up in IBM legal awaiting approval to post. I will follow up with IBM and see what I can do regardless. Personally I can't do anything related to this... But there are people who should be/are working on this. I haven't checked but the docker image was updated already. The others should follow up... It's my personal belief that this takes too long and it's frustrating, but I don't think it's an Informix issue... I'll also "alert" about those, but as I mentioned, there are people probably working on that. Regards. Thanks, Fernando and Art! :-)
The IBM documentation team responded to me. The fixed problems link should be working now. The known defects are aparently no longer published but the release notes have not been updated to reflect that reality. Hi - I've located the FC8 stuff in PartnerWorld but only the Advanced Developer Edition; none of the "production" versions (Enterprise, Workgroup, Express) appear to be there (yet) ...
