Hi, forum! I did working ok with cdc api on standard tables. But, I need to access with cdc api (cdc_startcapture) to tables with st_multilinestring columns or similar. When I did execute the cdc_startcapture, I'm receiving the message: CDC API 'cdc_startcapture' Failed at cdcapi.ec:1513. CDCAPI_RETVAL = -83718, CDC_ERRORCODE = UNKNOWN CDC Error Description is Unknown/Undocumented CDC API Error There is a method to do it? I know the st_multilinestring (and others spatial datatypes), is a special blob. If I can to access to binary change, I can work to decode it. What is the method to expand the knowledge of cdc_api to learn about non-standar data types? Thanks
I did detect if I ommit the column with spatial data, the capture work. I'm thinking I can to include with a trigger the change of spatial data changing a standard column (varchar, smallint, etc), and, when I detect the change on this column I can to read by hand the spatial column. But, I don't know if this work in a very loaded database. I did see the spatial data contains a value <> zero on syscolumns.extended_id. Any ideas?
For non-standard and large objects, you must use the data within the ro= w to get the non-standard/large object. Normally a primary key or unique in= dex would be used. Thanks. But, is it posible to detect the change without add a trigger to the table? I'm using cdc to avoid the unnecessary triggers in the tables. TIA jorge infante
