Informix OnLine 7.23 -> error -243

Hi folks, one of our clients works with our application which was developed with Uniface Six 6.1dp (incl. Polyserver) and Informix OnLine 7.23. The c/s operating systems are Win95 and Solaris 2.5. The communication between both is handled with TCP/IP. Within our application the client wants to get some data from the database and the only thing he gets is an error -243 (could not position within a table). There is no entry in the database's log file. After I dialed in via modem and did a select 'directly on the data- base' (i.e. not with our application) in dbaccess, there was neither an error in my select nor in our application afterwards (the client tried it again - and no error occurred.). What possible reasons are known for the error code -243, because it's not the first time it occurred?
