My company chose Informix to serve data to a number of SGI WWW servers. Now we're trying to re-implement much of our server API code in Java and we're discovering that SGI/INFORMIX seems to be one of the only OS/DB combinations without a JDBC driver. Now we're looking at having to do some sort of Informix->ODBC->JDBC daisy chain, but that doesn't seem like a very robust long-term solution. I'd love to hear any experienced advice on this predicament. If all else fails, I suppose it's not too late to switch to Oracle and use WebLogic's tools. thx, Kirt Johnson Senior Engineer N/Volve Inc.
