Re: Online in a 24x7 Setup. How?

Online is designed to be backed up while in production, so there is no problem backing up the system while your DB is running. Restoring is another issue. Obviously, anything you are restoring, at the time, is going to be inaccessible. But depending on how you have your data divided up, some data can still be accessible while other data is being restored. Your best bet for avoiding problems incurred by data unavailability due to hard drive crashes is to implement mirroring. zandy wrote: > Can anyone give me pointers on how to configure > Online in a 24x7 OLTP Setup ? > What are the issues regarding Backup, Restore ? > > Notes : > ODS ver 7.23 > Machine: Pentium 200 1 CPU > Memory 128 MB > Application : Point Of Sale > Ave. Transactions /day = 5000 > No Of users = 5 > > -- > Keeping me busy : > Porting D2 C/S apps to D3 3-tier > Email : zandy@skyinet.net -- * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ADDRESS ALTERED TO FOIL SPAMMERS: Remove "*NO-SPAM*" to reply.
