MSAccess and ODBC and Informix problems

Outline of Problem: Accessing an Informix 7.1 database table on a DEC Alpha from MSAccess via Q+E and I-Net. On some tables (for what it's worth, they are being read by a process on another node, visible to that process by an I-Star synonym) I get a "#deleted" for all the records, however I know that the data is there. MSAccess shows the correct number of rows and columns, it's just that all the data values read "#deleted". On other tables in the same database I get what is expected. To chase down the problem I considered that it could be an ODBC problem. Using the same ODBC data source file I accessed the tables via MSQuery and voila there was the data! It seems as though the process reading from across the net is putting a lock on the rows, and that MSAccess thinks it might delete them and is keeping me from seeing them. Why Query can see them and Access cannot is the mystery. Any ideas? The MSAccess User's Guide is no help (and dealing with product support doesn't really turn me on ;) Lynn Purser, MassTech
