Editors tend to ask you "really exit without saving?" and it'd be nice if something similar happened when you hit "N" and have a buffer full of SQL text. I am not sure if it would work in this case, but sometimes I have been able to get my "lost SQL" back by hitting control-Z, then looking though the /tmp directory for anything owned by me (ls -l /tmp | grep proberts). Sometimes there's a file there with a name like rsqa024433 which contains my SQL.
