User privilege

You can grant column level privileges to a user. Since you have an 7.x engine I would check out using "ROLES". See the Guide to 7.1 Feature Enhancements for information on "ROLES". Yet column level grants have been around for some time. See Chapter 10 in the Informix Guide to SQL Tutorial Version 7.1, page 10-11 to be specific. Hope this helps! C.L. Does anybody know whether it's possible to grant data based privileges to users of On-line 7.10 UD1 ( isql version 6.02 UC1 ) ? To be more explicit, let me say, I've got two groups of users; both using the same tables. Now, I want to grant privileges to one group only on the data which they're in charge of. In other words, I would like to grant row level privileges. If you've got the answer, I'd be grateful to know. Thanks in advance.
