RE: Certification

I took (and passed :-)) the Sys Admin exams. The stuff on informix.com was very helpful. The exams were based on training materials, and that's primarily what I reviewed in order to prepare for the exams. One of the two exams focused on the material covered in the IDS Sys Admin class -- pretty straightforward, shouldn't be much of a problem for anyone with 1-2 years experience with IDS 7.x. The other exam was, in my opinion, a bit tougher. It covered the material in the Performance and Tuning class. TIP: This second exam also covered some UNIX utilities that are used for troubleshooting / tuning -- be sure to brush up on sar, iostat, ps, vmstat, ipcs, etc. HTH ================================ Paul A.
