The course notes for developing informix database applications use to talk about differences between the two. There are a couple of syntax that is different between the two. Such as "START DATABASE" statement, only for SE, also only SE have audit trails, OnLine uses Logical Log files. Administration is totally different for the two engines too. Defaults are also different for the two engines, such as row/page level locking, isolation level. These will affect your application directly. However, on the whole, porting over shouldn't be two tedious. The data itself will probably port over cleanly. What is important is the application itself. Try to get some testing done before the actually switching over to avoid surprises. Calvin NG
