MEMORY & TEMP tables & Stored Procedures
Posted in 1999
Topics: Stored Procedures & SPL, Connectivity: ODBC / JDBC / .NET
Is there any method to know
1) temp tables (part or full) reside in memory ?
2) how many Stored Procedures are cached in memory for each session ?
3) What other objects reside in memory ?
Another problem I have is a session, that connects from VB, does a
simple SELECT count(*) on table every MINUTE (No Cursors are used). This
session is open for about 15 hours, and ralloc value keeps increasing.
How to release the memory allocated ?
ODBC : INTERSOLV 3.01 32 BIT INFORMIX
INFORMIX Ver 7.30 UC7
Solaris 5.6
STACK SIZE 64 KB
SHMTOTAL 3 GB
Thanks in advance

For Temp Tables Try using:
select t.dbsname,t.tabname,hex(p.partnum) partition,hex(p.flags) pflags
from systabnames t,sysptnhdr p
where t.partnum = p.partnum
and bitval(p.flags,32) = 1
and trunc(p.partnum/1048576) not in (select dbsnum from sysdbspaces
where is_temp = 0)
