dbexport -ss will include lock modes, extent sizes etc.What's the problem with the raw devices exactly? Is it that you have the
chunk path as the raw device name itself? If so, use a symbolic link as the
chunk name instead - it'll save heartache somewhere along the line.

Those are good suggestions...
In our installation, to get rid of multiple extents of the system tables, we
also massage the sql file from the dbexport. We insert alters for the next
size for all the system tables just after the grant dba statement. This,
when properly done, will get you down to 2 extents.
