Odd behavior immediately after L0 restore

I've got a situation in my 11.70.FC2 (hp-ux PA-RISC) environment where immediately after a L0 restore certain programs run significantly faster (3 hours --> 6 minutes) than usual The next time these programs run, they go back to the slow runtimes. I've bounced the engine and server and I don't see the performance change. I'm looking for any thoughts on what could cause such behavior
