I'm always trying to understand new ideas and information. My impression of the term would suggest software manufacturers that provide software they don't maintain. As far as commercial products, I would like to know who these "slumlords" are so that I don't buy their products. I don't have access to the Gartner Group article, so your comments would be appreciated. I have found some interesting observations about shareware, where the updates to, and maintenance of, the software seems to be more frequent than commercial software. But this could be an educational process for me, and I would appreciate more information about this. Thanks!
