onunload vs. dbexport

My new site is running its production instance on file system, and I'm going to move it to raw disk. Everyone, Informix Tech. Support, you forum contributors etc. says to use dbexport/dbimport. Why? What does eveyonr have against the faster onunload/onload (we're talking OnLine v7.13 here)? I'd be interested in any views. Neil Truby Chase Bank Bournemouth, UK
