New release of utils2_ak
Posted in 2017
Folks:
I just discovered this yesterday:
The dbschema -c command does not properly support extendable chunks,
temporary smart blobspaces, external spaces (when generating SQL API
function calls), nor the new (in v12.10) PLOG type auto-extending dbspace
for the physical log. Using a PLOG dbspace to hold your physical log makes
the physical log itself auto-extending if the engine detects that a too
small physical log is causing PLOG checkpoints. This does not happen if the
physical log is placed in an ordinary dbspace even if the space's chunk is
extendable.
Myschema has always properly handled all of these except temporary smart
blobspaces. The May 3, 2017 release, available now on my web site (
www.askdbmgt.com/my-utilities) includes a fix which properly handles temp
smart blobspaces. Support for extendable chunks, external spaces, and PLOG
dbspaces is, as always, still correct.
