Hi, I have used data replicaiton features in 7.1 version. U should set up the servers in REVERSE_TYPE mode. This will ensure that the secondary becomes primary( or standard ) when your primary server goes down. The secondary becomes primary after the primary transferrs the logical logs to this server. In case the primary is down , when the secondary is operational, it becomes the standard server. Now when u want to bring the old primary up, it will come up in secondary mode.
