Not very impressed, really. It's quite flaky, prone to errors in the catalog which require a catalog re-build. Also, you seem to have to duplicate the definitions the locations of your disk storage, as it requires referencing in both the $ARC_CONFIG file, and the onarchive volume definition. Having said all that, now I've got on top of it it's running fairly smoothly. You don't have to worry about an archive spreading over more than one file system, it'll handle that, so you need only worry about the 2GByte limit if you're actually short of disk space. If so, you'll want to use the facility that allows you to define a "dbspaceset" - a set of dbspaces to comprise the archive. Of course, if the size of the archive of any one of your dbspaces exceeds the amount of disk storage you have, you're .... in trouble! Hope this helps. Call if you want to know more.
