RE: Is Infor still using Informix as their database engine?
Now thats funny. You point out Infor using Informix not on Infor's own site, but IBM's partner world? On Infor's site, they talk abotu a partnership with IBM and IBM's Global Service. They don't mention any product brands. ;-) From: vgomesn@hotmail.com To: im_gumby@hotmail.com; informix-list@iiug.org Subject: RE: Is Infor still using Informix as their database engine? Date: Sat, 7 Feb 2009 18:21:47 +0000 Hi, >From a trusted source (Infor): Infor has dozens to hundreds of different products, some that use Informix and others that use DB2, Oracle and MSSQL. Infor WM2000's primary database is and always has been Informix and that hasn’t changed, same for Baan. The specific team in Greenville, SC does another development, related to EAM, not related to the applications that use Informix. ---- Infor products that use Informix continue their development, that includes using the latest versions of IDS. ---- As to where to look for Informix partners and their solutions: These are directories where you can find Informix and other IBM Software partners (including Infor): - IBM PartnerWorld - IBM Business Partners www.ibm.com/partnerworld (click on link on the right: 'Find Business Partners') you can search by keyword 'Informix' and other type of criteria - IBM DeveloperWorks - Informix Business Partner Directory http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/wikis/display/im/Informix+Business+Partner+Directory - Informix Partners Making Waves http://www-01.ibm.com/software/data/informix/press/ Regards, Veronica. > From: im_gumby@hotmail.com > Subject: Is Infor still using Informix as their database engine? > Date: Fri, 6 Feb 2009 07:03:45 -0800 > To: informix-list@iiug.org > > Infor is an IBM partner, but they aren't specific and only say IBM > hardware and middleware. > > Infor bought out SSA and a couple of other companies. > > Just trying to see who's still an ISV / Partner. > > Its a shame that IBM doesn't have a catalog, even an online catalog of > ISV solutions on Informix. > (If they do, try finding it on their website!) > > -G > _______________________________________________ > Informix-list mailing list > Informix-list@iiug.org > http://www.iiug.org/mailman/listinfo/informix-list Color coding for safety: Windows Live Hotmail alerts you to suspicious email.
