you need to control this through scripts. We currently run logging to disk
on the majority of our production servers.

But what is logging is continuous (ie, ontape -c)? how do you keep ontape
from
writing to the same file specified in LTAPEDEV-and hence over-writing your
log
file? Make up a script to periodically go in and rename the file?
