Replication on INFORMIX ?

Hi Guys, I'm new in this nw and need u'r help ... we're trying Informix Dymanic Server 7.22 on SCO and soon also for our SUN Solaris ... it's running well but I have difficulties with the REPLICATION Features ... this's actually the reason we migrated to SQL my quez are : (as seen at page 236, Unleashed Informix by John Mc.Nally, Glenn Miller, SAMS Publishing) - the hardware servers must be identical .... - software version must be identical - amount of dbspace/disk space must be equal - ROOTNAME, ROOTPATH, ROOTOFFSET, ROOTSIZE must be identical on both servers - PHYSDBS, PHYSFILE must be identical .. - etc ( both machine must be identical ) do we need this .... I mean actually this is a mirroring ... not a replication enginee ... right? and also in replication ... we need not to replicate the whole database ... only some tables ...and also the hardware and o/s are different ... .... as I have seen in other databases ) so any idea about this ... ? ... someone please help me on this ... I already tried to get contact with the informix guys ... and also the distributor here ...but they' were giving me quite funny answer and asking more time for further answers ... what I need to know is : - could we replicate some tables only - do we need identical machine, o/s, equal space, etc - how to do the setup ... we this this quite soon .. very soon tia regards Bharat / MK
