SLP stuff

Hello Informix Savants I am writing a couple of Stored Procedures and I am wondering wheter it is possible to use a variable, in some form, in the from statement e.g..: SELECT stuff FROM variable I have tried the above but can't seem to find the right way to apply the variable either by experimentation or documentation. The problem I am working on can easily be solved using ESQL/C, but I'd rather use SPL 'cause the solution is needed on differnt platforms/versions. Thanks & Best Regards Svend
