ADO 2.0/Informix 2.8 ODBC Driver Problems (from VB 6)

Ok, I'm working on a VB app that runs on a WindowsNT 4.0 Server and is to talk to an Informix SE 7.22 database on a UNIX box. The app is to use ADO 2.0 Connection/RecordSet objects to talk to the INFORMIX 2.80 32-bit ODBC driver (which is MTS compliant--since we're also adding MTS into the mix). The problem we're running into is this: when the ADODB Connection object attempts to Open the connection we get the following error back: [Informix][ODBC Informix Driver][Informix]Syntax disallowed in this database server. The first strange thing is this: we have the Informix-CLI 2.5 driver left over from the 2.02 CLI, and that WORKS using the exact same code, SetNet and ODBC settings! Now, we checked our connection calls and we're not doing anything strange in our call, in fact here's the code: strConn = "DSN=" & Trim(pstrDSN) If (pstrUID <> vbNullString) Then _ strConn = Trim(strConn) & _ ";UID=" & Trim(pstrUID) & _ ";PWD=" & Trim(pstrPWD) & ";" cnn1.Open strConn The connection string (strConn) gets assembled correctly: "DSN=gfms;UID=eichmtim;PWD=notreal;" The DSN works through other ODBC applications (ODBC-ISQL/w by Fernando Felix, MS-Query from SQL-Server, etc.), just not from our VB code that uses ADO 2.0. Any ideas what my generate this problem? Thanks! And just a rehash of our setup: NT 4.0 Server (Enterprise Edition) ADO 2.0 ODBC 3.51 INFORMIX-SE 7.22 (on a SCO/UNIX box) INFORMIX-CLI 2.10 (Informix 2.80 ODBC Driver) MS-Transaction Server (MTS) 2.0 Visual Basic 6.0 Thanks again!
