Re: MTS <--> Informix

I have been trying to get Informix to work with MTS for 8 weeks now, and have been unsuccessful. There are currently two released drivers, one from Informix (version 2.80) and one from Intersolv (3.10/3.11). Neither of these drivers will work correctly under MTS. There are a couple of things: 1. the drivers are not thread safe, and once put under load, they will fail -- when they fail, they will reset all your current connections to the database and drops ALL currently connected clients. 2. neither of these drivers can support the OLE/TA transaction model that MTS requires -- thus no transactions! I am looking at the beta, and cannot comment on it, other than to say that I am not confidant in it. I have talked with Intersolv and they have told me that they will not have an MTS conformant driver for Informix until 1999, either quarter 1 or quarter 2. I would also comment, that I have talked with two companies who have completely abandoned work on MTS after trying their non-Microsoft or Oracle databases under MTS. - Chris kerslake@home.com Hans S'derlund wrote in message <6tlr1s$p96$1@news.xmission.com>... > >Hi, > >I wonder if anyone has experience in developing applications in a MTS / = >Informix / NT >environment?
