Looking at the index under Databases, the first entry is "controlling storage location." Under Dbspaces, the entry "creating, overview" leaps into view. Check the web site of the International Informix Users Group for a list of other, third-party, texts that can also be of great help. http://www.iiug.org Definitely consider taking a training course. Informix offers a course on Database System Administration that sounds perfect.
