We recently got a new install of Informix on a new RH Linux box. I've downloaded the latest version, and everything works except cperf. Here is what I get when I try to cperf stamp.c from the esqldemo (I have it echoing the compile string it is using first): exec cc -w -fwritable-strings -fpic -I/home/informix/incl/tools -I/ home/informix/incl/esql stamp.c -L/home/informix/lib/tools -L/home/ informix/lib/tools/esql -L/home/informix/lib/tools/tools /home/ informix/lib/tools/libsperf.a /home/informix/lib/tools/libfe.a /home/ informix/lib/tools/libomenu.a /home/informix/lib/tools/librdsterm.a - lcurses /home/informix/lib/esql/libifos.a /home/informix/lib/esql/ libifgen.a /home/informix/lib/esql/libifsql.a /home/informix/lib/ libifasf.a /home/informix/lib/esql/libifos.a /home/informix/lib/esql/ libifgen.a /home/informix/lib/esql/libifgls.a -lc -lm -ldl -lcrypt / home/informix/lib/esql/libifglx.a cc1: note: -fwritable-strings is deprecated; see documentation for details /home/informix/lib/tools/libsperf.a(e3errs.o)(.text+0x58): In function `rputmsg': : warning: `sys_errlist' is deprecated; use `strerror' or `strerror_r' instead /home/informix/lib/tools/libsperf.a(e3errs.o)(.text+0x28): In function `rputmsg': : warning: `sys_nerr' is deprecated; use `strerror' or `strerror_r' instead Obviously the big problem is the "rputmsg" from "libsperf.a" Has anyone seen this before? Can anyone help me? Thanks. Ed

The other problems are 'real' - there's no reason not to use strerror() instead except it wasn't standardized when the code was written (we're discussing 1986 or thereabouts). You should be able to use the cperf you've got. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2007.0226 -- http://dbi.perl.org/

It does compile and I can use the resulted executable to launch a perform screen, but I can't use to intended perform screen. It does run the screen that is expecting to find a procedure. It doesn't give any error, it just won't do anything.
