Re: Blocked:CKPT-dbimport hangs

Hi Olaf, I am running 7.30.UC6 on HP-UX 10.20 and I have the same problem: the instance hangs on a Blocked:CKPT approximatively once a day. The only way to bypass is to stop the engine and restart it. I tried to change ONDBSPACEDOWN from 2 to 1 but it changed nothing. Informix technical support in France did not give any workaround. I migrated in 7.30.UC2 at the beginning of January and 7.30.UC6 in middle-January. Before that I was in 7.23.UC1. I really think it could be a 7.3 bug. If someone of informix reads this mail, please give advice. TIA, David... ----- Message d'origine ----- De : Olaf <bjv@wsx.wsex.com> ' : <informix-list@iiug.org> Envoi' : mercredi 17 f'vrier 1999 01:32 Objet : Blocked:CKPT-dbimport hangs Hello All, I am having trouble using dbimport to import from tape a ~2gig DB. The DB is from an export on Online 5.07.UC1 SCO OS5.04. I am trying to run the import on IDS 7.30.UC6 Sun OS 5.6. When I run the import it loads 3 small tables, perms, rowlock, pagelock. Tell you the truth, I do not what those tables are, but I imagine Informix uses them for the DB. After it loads the first 3 tables, it begins loading a table with a 1st extent size of 175000k. It seems to hange at *** load table ***. onstat -p reveals: ------------------ Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.UC6 -- On-Line (CKPT REQ) -- Up 00:18:27 -- 155456 Kbytes Blocked:CKPT Profile dskreads pagreads bufreads %cached dskwrits pagwrits bufwrits %cached 15 0 180867 99.99 16992 16446 100927 83.16 isamtot open start read write rewrite delete commit rollbk 92879 368 359 458 45709 6 1 12 0 gp_read gp_write gp_rewrt gp_del gp_alloc gp_free gp_curs 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 ovlock ovuserthread ovbuff usercpu syscpu numckpts flushes 0 0 0 8.22 0.91 22 44 bufwaits lokwaits lockreqs deadlks dltouts ckpwaits compress seqscans 0 0 1122 0 0 22 493 16 ixda-RA idx-RA da-RA RA-pgsused lchwaits 0 0 0 0 0 onstat -m reveals: ------------------ Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.UC6 -- On-Line (CKPT REQ) -- Up 00:19:14 -- 155456 Kbytes Blocked:CKPT Message Log File: /usr/local/informix/online.log 19:19:42 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 2 seconds. 19:19:44 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 2 seconds. 19:19:46 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:19:47 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:19:49 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 2 seconds. 19:19:51 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:19:53 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:19:54 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 2 seconds. 19:19:56 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:19:58 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:19:59 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 2 seconds. 19:20:01 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:20:03 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:20:05 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:20:06 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 2 seconds. 19:20:08 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:20:10 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:20:11 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. 19:20:13 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 2 seconds. 19:20:15 Checkpoint Completed: duration was 1 seconds. onstat -l reveals: ------------------ Informix Dynamic Server Version 7.30.UC6 -- On-Line (CKPT REQ) -- Up 00:19:53 -- 155456 Kbytes Blocked:CKPT Physical Logging Buffer bufused bufsize numpages numwrits pages/io P-2 0 16 26285 1734 15.16 phybegin physize phypos phyused %used 10003f 500 38 375 75.00 Logical Logging Buffer bufused bufsize numrecs numpages numwrits recs/pages pages/io L-3 0 16 1467 126 75 11.6 1.7 Subsystem numrecs Log Space used OLDRSAM 1467 113324 address number flags uniqid begin size used %used a155bb8 1 U---C-L 1 100233 6250 1673 26.77 a155bd4 2 F------ 0 101a9d 6250 0 0.00 a155bf0 3 F------ 0 103307 6250 0 0.00 a155c0c 4 F------ 0 104b71 6250 0 0.00 a155c28 5 F------ 0 1063db 6250 0 0.00 a155c44 6 F------ 0 107c45 6250 0 0.00 a155c60 7 F------ 0 1094af 6250 0 0.00 a155c7c 8 F------ 0 10ad19 6250 0 0.00 a155c98 9 F------ 0 10c583 6250 0 0.00 a155cb4 10 F------ 0 10dded 6250 0 0.00 a155cd0 11 F------ 0 10f657 6250 0 0.00 a155cec 12 F------ 0 110ec1 6250 0 0.00 a155d08 13 F------ 0 11272b 6250 0 0.00 a155d24 14 F------ 0 113f95 6250 0 0.00 a155d40 15 F------ 0 1157ff 6250 0 0.00 a155d5c 16 F------ 0 117069 6250 0 0.00 a155d78 17 F------ 0 1188d3 6250 0 0.00 a155d94 18 F------ 0 11a13d 6250 0 0.00 a155db0 19 F------ 0 11b9a7 6250 0 0.00 a155dcc 20 F------ 0 11d211 6250 0 0.00 a155de8 21 F------ 0 11ea7b 6250 0 0.00 a155e04 22 F------ 0 1202e5 6250 0 0.00 a155e20 23 F------ 0 121b4f 6250 0 0.00 a155e3c 24 F------ 0 1233b9 6250 0 0.00 a155e58 25 F------ 0 124c23 6250 0 0.00 a155e74 26 F------ 0 12648d 6250 0 0.00 a155e90 27 F------ 0 127cf7 6250 0 0.00 a155eac 28 F------ 0 129561 6250 0 0.00 a155ec8 29 F------ 0 12adcb 6250 0 0.00 a155ee4 30 F------ 0 12c635 6250 0 0.00 a155f00 31 F------ 0 12de9f 6250 0 0.00 a155f1c 32 F------ 0 12f709 6250 0 0.00 a155f38 33 F------ 0 130f73 6250 0 0.00 a155f54 34 F------ 0 1327dd 6250 0 0.00 a155f70 35 F------ 0 134047 6250 0 0.00 a155f8c 36 F------ 0 1358b1 6250 0 0.00 a155fa8 37 F------ 0 13711b 6250 0 0.00 a155fc4 38 F------ 0 138985 6250 0 0.00 a155fe0 39 F------ 0 13a1ef 6250 0 0.00 a155ffc 40 F------ 0 13ba59 6250 0 0.00 a156018 41 F------ 0 13d2c3 6250 0 0.00 a156034 42
