Ok, I can example this: our larger table has Number of Rows 441.762.945 Our cpu idle times: 12:30:01 PM CPU %user %nice %system %iowait %steal %idle 12:40:01 PM all 3.39 0.00 0.39 24.61 0.00 71.61 12:50:01 PM all 3.08 0.00 0.32 22.42 0.00 74.18 01:00:01 PM all 3.68 0.00 0.25 10.33 0.00 85.74 01:10:01 PM all 4.46 0.02 0.24 8.89 0.00 86.39 01:20:01 PM all 5.92 0.00 0.24 7.92 0.00 85.92 01:30:01 PM all 6.28 0.00 0.25 6.83 0.00 86.63 01:40:01 PM all 5.60 0.00 0.24 7.77 0.00 86.38 Average: all 6.82 0.00 0.37 9.68 0.00 83.12 Does it means a positive or negative case? Informix is great, in any size, any arch, anywhere. Best regards! Can you tell me what the memory usage is?
Ok. The instance has 8GB of memory - allocated for the database only. Total of 9GB (physical) amount. Number of sessions? Not much, it´s an DW. But I could tell you better things, yet, on our OLTP with the same hardware. 1200+ sessions, with less allocated memory (5,6 GB for Informix), and an average of 95% idle time during all work times of our company. Best regards.
