You may want to visit comp.databases.ibm-db2 and check out how many questions are asked there which clearly show Oracle and SQL server background. You won't find an ISV ditching Oracle or SQL Server - why should they? - but you see tons of ISVs _porting_ to get extra legs to stand on. IBM has teams world wide that do nothing but "ISV enablement". I.e. help ISVs port their apps. Again, how many open source vendors can afford to send out their employees to assist with ports? I do not know the IDS side of the house, but I do know what happens on the DB2 side. Given that this IDS "epiphany" ;-) is rather recent I suggest some patience is in order to see what good will come out of it. But the problem ain't the lack of ISVs willing to invest in non Oracle, non SQL Server support. Cheers Serge -- Serge Rielau DB2 SQL Compiler Development IBM Toronto Lab
