Not a technical thread at all: the original post was off-topic political spam (a rant about the 2004 US election, padded with randomly generated nonsense text) cross-posted to the Informix group. The regulars simply responded with database in-jokes — "try UPDATE STATISTICS", "maybe ROLLBACK WORK would help", "the COMMIT WORK has already been issued" — plus a mild complaint about top-posting and quoting the whole diatribe. No Informix problem is raised and there is nothing to resolve; safe to skip.
