(SET ISOLATION TO DIRTY READ) Another possible solution would be to set the lock mode to a wait period. Of course this will only be a satisfying solution, if you're deletes don't take too long. (SET LOCK MODE TO WAIT [n]) In any case you'll have to reduce the length of the delete transaction, to leave gaps for the users to work or perform the deletes in a batch-job during the night.
