Problem with myschema.ec & Client SDK 2.10 in utils2_ak pkg

Jonathan Leffler informs me that myschema.ec gets a warning from SDK 2.10 because the function openit() does not match the prototype in locator.h for a loc_t open function. The prototype did not exist in earlier versions of locator.h and documentation shows only the two arguments I have included. We are waiting for Informix documentation group to tell me a) The meaning and use of this new parameter, b) what version of SDK/ESQL it first appears in, and c) how to detect either whether this parameter is valid or which version of the compiler is being used. Users of SDK 2.10 should carefully test myschema's BLOB handling which is used for fragmentation expressions until this is resolved. I'll keep you all posted.

Jonathan got me the definitive answer today. The third argument always existed but has never been documented except in some sample code. The fix for anyone using SDK2.10, or for that matter anyone who wants to take advantage of the 'new' parameter, is to add a third parameter to the LOCUSER (loc_t).loc_open function called bsize which is an (int) and will contain the size of the blob being read/written. I have fixed the code for the next release of myschema but it seems too trivial to upload a new version for now. Art S. Kagel
